Funeral Operative

Co-op Funeralcare has a vacancy for a Funeral Operative in Reading. As a Funeral Operative, you will support the funeral team in all aspects of funeral care, from the collection of the deceased through to the funeral service.

Your duties:

• Collecting the deceased from homes, hospitals, and care homes
• Driving funeral vehicles including hearses and limousines
• Bearing coffins and supporting the funeral cortege
• Preparing and dressing the deceased
• Maintaining vehicles and the funeral home to high standards
• Setting up venues for funeral services

Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence (D1 category preferred)
• Physically fit — the role involves lifting and carrying
• Smart, professional appearance
• Respectful and compassionate manner
• Flexible with working hours including some weekends and on-call
