Job Description
Leeds City Council is recruiting a Bereavement Services Officer to work across our cemeteries and crematoria. This is a local authority role with excellent public sector benefits.
Key duties:
- Managing burial and cremation bookings
- Liaising with funeral directors and bereaved families
- Maintaining accurate burial and cremation records
- Administering the purchase and transfer of grave rights
- Supporting families visiting graves and memorial areas
- Ensuring compliance with burial and cremation legislation
- Responding to public enquiries
Requirements:
- Experience in customer service or administration
- Knowledge of bereavement services legislation (desirable)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literate
- Empathetic and sensitive approach
- Full UK driving licence
